You can use PopItUp Payments to automatically calculate and collect shipping expenses for PopItUp orders.  PopItUp will collect shipping expenses in the invoices sent to your customers from the Orders page or from Done Shopping page when your customers pay with a Credit or Debit card.  You can configure how your business collects shipping expenses as follows:

  1. Navigate to the Billing and Payments settings page, and click, "Collect Payment with PopItUp".  This will enable you to configure the "Determine Shipping Cost" section under "Claim Settings".
  2. If you'd like to charge a single rate for an entire order, select "Single Rate" OR if you'd like to charge shipping based on the number of items in the order, select "Item count rules".
  3. Enter the rate that you'd like to charge.

Three shipping configurations that are most common in retail and online commerce include:  (1) a fixed shipping rate per order, regardless of the number of items in the order, (2) a fixed shipping rate per item, with a per order maximum, and (3) a variable per item rate with a maximum shipping rate calculated based on the number of items in the order.

To configure a fixed shipping rate per order:

  1. Under claim settings, select "Single Rate"
  2. Input the rate that you would like to charge per order for shipping.  Regardless of the number of items in the order, the shipping rate will be the same.

To configure a fixed shipping rate per item:

  1. Under claim settings, select "Item count rules"
  2. Add a price rule:

    • Number of items --> 1
    • Rate per item --> Enter the rate that you would like to charge per item
  3. Click "Add Price Rule"
  4. Optional: Add a maximum amount you'll charge for shipping for a single order.

To configure a variable shipping rate per item:

  1. Under claim settings, select "Item count rules"
  2. Add a price rule:

    • Number of items --> 1
    • Rate per item --> Enter the rate that you would like to charge for the first item
  3. Click "Add Price Rule"

    • Number of items --> 1
    • Rate per item --> Enter a rate (typically less than the rate entered in the first price rule)
  4. Optional: Add more price rules
  5. Optional: Add a maximum amount you'll charge for shipping for a single order.
